Description

Another wonderfully original car that will make a fun and exciting driver as is. The heavy lifting has been done. The engine has been rebuilt, brakes rebuilt, a new custom fuel tank in stainless steel, as well as a new custom stainless steel radiator up front. Electric fuel pump and pressure regulator and gauge have been installed. New rubber seals for the front and rear windshields, as well as new weatherstripping for the side windows and the doors. The interior is in good shape, with excellent seats, dash pad, door cards, and new carpet. The wood veneer on the dash facia is cracked as in all originals and the headliner shows age separations, though does not sag. The car was repainted about 15-20 years ago and shows numerous flaws and defects. That said, the paint is still deep and has a nice even shine to it. A great 10 footer to enjoy right now, or to improve over time. There are some interesting in-period upgrades, notably a Hermes brand steel slotted airfoil up front, a Conversions and Tuning, Ltd. intake (a 60's and 70's London-based tuning company ran by Dennis Powell), and a Weber 40 DCOE carburetor. To get a throaty exhaust note, we fabricated a custom exhaust set-up, using a small stainless pre-muffler in sequence with a stainless muffled exhaust pipe that features an exhaust trap that can be removed in seconds. Notes: 1. The Federal S2 Europa's are increasingly appreciated for their original high combings design, i.e. the original bread van, as compared to the modified design of the later Twin Cam. Additionally, in the Europa community the sentiment is that the aluminum block Renault cars are much more accessible for maintenance and repairs. The Renault engine also delivers a more street-friendly performance with better torque and flatter power curve. They are substantially lighter than the Twin Cam, off-setting the "twink's" higher horse power.
